In honor of Nora's post, which was in honor of St. Patrick's Day, I'll list just a few things that make me Green With Envy.
1. Why can't I have his patience?
2. Why can't I be as tall and thin and beautiful as her? Or her? Or her? Or her?
3. I wish I was as smart as him, or at least have one-tenth as many publications as he does.
4. I wish I was as secure as she seems to be about getting tenure.
5. I'm jealous of her kindness, and that she's so much less judgemental than I am.
6. I'm jealous that the girl sitting next to me feels so comfortable exposing her entire butt crack to everyone in the cafe. Wait. No I'm not.
7. Why can't I have his ability to figure things out without getting so pissed off?
What color green am I? I'm not sure, but it's definitely vegetal.

Re: #2-- you're not really saying you wish you were taller, are you? Because seeing as how your sleeves are already too short...
If you have a baby, you can enter a whole new world of envy regarding women who don't gain 60+ pounds and wind up with a stomach that looks like a deflated balloon. So, quick, get pregnant!
Nora complained about finding shoes in a size 9... have you TOLD her about your sister with the size 11 flippers???

Thank you. More and more I think we may share the same brain. (Sharing with you makes it a bit easier, so thanks for that too.)
I know the point is that these are the things we think inside our own heads and aren't really influenced by reality or other people, but oh lordy are you one gorgeous girl. (Smart, of course, but also gorgeous.)
